A Photo Story: Emma Hill

Alaskan Singer/Songwriter Emma Hill has been touring, non-stop, with her musical partner Bryan Daste in support of her brand new album The Black and Wretched Heart, which was released here in Canada on May 14th. They have driven roughly 10,000 miles to play 50 shows in 54 days days across The United States, and made a special stop here in Toronto earlier this month!

Emma comes from a very small village in Alaska called Sleepmute with a population of only 100 people. The only way to get to Sleepmute is by plane! We thought we would show her one of the best parts about Toronto: The Legendary King’s Crown Nachos!

While anxiously awaiting their first King’s Crown, we played a little game called 2 Truths and A Lie about her home state of Alaska! Can you spot the lie?

1. Alaska’s Balladeer is Hobo Jim and is most known for his song “Fishin’ For Chickens”

2. Best way to deal with a grizzly bear is put a little penut butter on it’s nose

3. Alaska has a Summer solstice, which means the sun is out for 24 hours of the day!

Check out the photo story below of Emma and Bryan’s King’s Crown experience!

Here it is… first King’s Crown EVER! “OH MY GOD”

Dig in…

“Oh My God” - Emma
“I LOVE being famous” - Bryan *note sarcasm

Unlike any nachos you’ll find in Alaska…

Building up strength to fight bears when they get home

Bet you that this will make you want to come back to Toronto again and again

Almost done… you guys can do it!

Happy campers. “Kind of broke my brain with its awesomeness” - Bryan

Now tell everyone in Alaska what they’re missing in Canada!

We love Alaska and we love Emma Hill! Thanks for the good times and the Alaska facts. Can’t wait to see you guys again!
