The Endless Summer Tour featuring This Century on August 24,2012

Sneaky Dee’s is excited to announce that The Century alongside Austin Gibbs and guests will be taking the stage on August 24, 2012 during the band’s Endless Summer Tour!

This Century formed back in 2007 and has since become one of the most exciting pop/rock bands to enter the scene. Soon after the release of their LP, “Sound of Fire,” AP Magazine named them one of the “100 Bands You Need to Know.” This Century has toured extensively with the likes of The Maine, Good Charlotte, The Ready Set, Breathe Carolina, Hey Monday and more. With a large rise in popularity in Southeast Asia, both songs “Sound of Fire” and “Everything, Everywhere” have reached #1 on the top 40 radio charts and continue to receive consistent radio attention.

The band has recently teamed up with producer Colby Wedgeworth (The Maine) to work on their second LP, that has yet to be released. Their newest single. “Bleach Blonde” is taking over the iTunes charts and is the “perfect summer anthem with a larger than life sound,” as described by front man Joel Kanitz. There is no doubt these guys are on the way to the top.

Every Special Ever on July 25th

To continue the 25th anniversary celebrations on Wednesday July 25th from open until close we will be offering our awesome (and sometimes smelly) patrons, every special ever. That’s right, all of them. You’re very welcome. #SD25

Sneaky Dee’s 25th Anniversary Concert Series Kickoff!

We are celebrating our 25th birthday in true Sneak’s fashion, with big events and even bigger special performances! Our 25th anniversary concert series will kick off on September 13th and go through to October 31st.

The first of many special surprise performances will be a double header from BC’s pop punk ambassadors GOB on September 13th and 14th. The last time Sneaky Dee’s hosted Gob was back in October of 2006. The band is coming off of a string of sold-out shows in BC and Alberta, including a jaw dropping performance supporting Billy Talent on the main stage of Edmonton’s summer festival highlight, Boonstock. There is no doubt both shows are sure to be a sweaty success as fans pile into the small venue for two very special nights that are unlikely to ever be duplicated.

The band is working on a new record, meanwhile lead singer Tom Thacker has joined Sum 41. GOB formed in 1993 and quickly became Vans Warped Tour favourites. Their 2003 LP Foot in Mouth Disease was a MuchMusic heavyweight with singles “I Hear You Calling” and “Give Up The Grudge”.

Tickets cost $20 in advance and will be available at Rotate This and www.ticketweb.ca.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements and use the #SD25 hashtag to spread the word!

‘Cactus in the Valley’ Nachos Inspired & Curated by Canadian Musician Lights

Sneaky Dee’s and Canadian musician Lights are teaming up to present a special nacho dish, appropriately named “Cactus In The Valley”, exclusively available at Sneaky Dee’s in downtown Toronto! After the successful Cancer Bats nacho collaboration, the Destroyer, Sneaky Dee’s is excited to unleash yet another artist created dish.

After the debut of Lights’ second studio album, Siberia, in October 2011, and a Juno nomination for best pop album of the year in February 2012, Sneaky Dee’s couldn’t think of a better artist to honor in the form of nachos! Lights has been a long time supporter of the restaurant and concert venue, saying ”Creating nachos with Sneaks is collaboration on another level, hearty as hell!”

Starting TODAY the Cactus in the Valley nachos will officially be available for $15.95 for a limited time only! If you order them today they are on special!

The “Cactus In The Valley” nachos are tortillas topped with seasoned chicken, rice, salsa roja, frijoles, grilled peppers and onions, then baked with cheese and topped with fresh guacamole and sour cream. These fajita style nachos are a must try.

Sneaky Dee’s opened its doors in 1987 and has since become cultural institution within Toronto. Full of punk rock energy and graffiti covered walls; the upstairs venue is known for its dimly lit stage, which has been graced by the likes of Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, and Fucked Up. Meanwhile downstairs in the restaurant, great tunes are always on rotation and tex-mex and pub styled favourites are being served up all night long.

S my D at NXNE

Each year NXNE becomes more epic while showcasing major talent from all over the world. For 2012, Sneaky Dee’s had the chance to host some amazing events put together by M for Montreal, Daps Records, and Dose.ca. These guys grabbed NXNE by the horns and made S my D a raging success. We’re still hungover. Thanks to everyone who helped organize shows or showed up to party and support the music! This year’s badass bunch of bands included Larry and his Flask, Dance Laury Dance, Phedre, Odonis Odonis, and Yamantaka//Sonic Titan.

We would love to relive the week all over again, hangovers and all! But since time travel still has not been invented (we actively work on it after hours), check out our picture gallery!
